Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer with 15+ years of civil engineering experience, focused on mining and industrial projects. The role leads the structural design team through concept to construction, ensuring safety, quality and scalable solutions across multidisciplinary projects.

Hybrid work options are available in Australia, with involvement across major infrastructure programs and collaboration with clients to deliver complex structural systems on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent with extensive structural engineering experience.
• CPEng accreditation and Engineers Australia membership are highly desirable.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is preferred.
• Proven experience leading mining and industrial projects and coordinating multi-disciplinary interfaces.
• Proficient in SpaceGass, Strand7 and IDEA StatiCa with strong design and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership to the structural design team and project teams.
• Lead delivery of structural design from concept to construction, ensuring safe and efficient outcomes.
• Mentor engineers and designers to foster technical excellence.
• Oversee drawings, specifications and quality management processes.
• Collaborate across disciplines to integrate structural solutions with other engineering fields.
