Breese Pitt Dixon Pty Ltd is seeking a Principal Stormwater Engineer to lead and expand water resources, hydrology, flood modelling, and stormwater design capabilities in Victoria.

You will coordinate design teams, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality modelling, planning and construction documentation across Wetlands, Waterways and trunk drainage projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of consulting experience in stormwater projects in Victoria.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in flood modelling with software such as TUFLOW, HECRAS, RORB, DRAINS or similar is desirable.
• Strong civil engineering design, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and takes pride in the quality of their work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and works well within a team environment.
• Demonstrated initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare & manage civil engineering designs for Wetlands, Retarding Basins, Waterways, Culverts, WSUD assets and trunk drainage.
• Prepare Hydrologic/flood models using RORB, TUFLOW, HECRAS or similar.
• Develop design plans, specifications and construction documentation.
• Provide technical advice to project managers and construction teams.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to quality and risk management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of civil engineering design trends and practices.
• Promote a safe work environment by following WHS policies and safety initiatives.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team, upholding BPD’s values and standards.

The Role:

An opportunity to lead and expand Breese Pitt Dixon’s water resources, hydrology, flood modelling and general stormwater expertise. As a Principal Stormwater Engineer, you’ll play a key role in stormwater modelling, planning, detailed design and design management, including quality control and technical leadership. You bring extensive experience designing and modelling stormwater projects, which will allow you to coordinate and mentor other designers within the business.
