Job summary

J. Wyndham Prince seeks a Water Resources Engineer to join our Penrith, NSW team. You will support clients from land developers to government agencies, tackling stormwater investigations, modelling, design, mapping and reporting.

You’ll assess and report on stormwater and floodplain systems across urban, rural and coastal environments, helping design detention basins, wetlands and reuse schemes. Proficiency in MUSIC, DRAINS, TUFLOW and QGIS is required.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in stormwater or floodplain management (2–3 years).
• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modelling and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Model, assess and report on stormwater and floodplain systems across urban, rural and coastal environments.
• Assist with design of detention basins, wetlands and reuse systems that are buildable and maintainable.
• Prepare and present modelling outputs, maps and reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Utilise MUSIC, DRAINS, TUFLOW and QGIS to deliver robust engineering solutions.

About the role

As the Water Resources Engineer, you'll support clients and their projects, ranging from land developers to government agencies. With a comprehensive range of engineering services to manage, flooding risk and stormwater through investigations, modeling, design, mapping and reporting.

You’ll assess, model and report on stormwater and floodplain systems across urban, rural and coastal environments. Alongside this, helping design detention basins, wetlands and reuse systems. Not just on paper, but in a way that's buildable and maintainable.

You’ll focus on creating innovative solutions in hydrological, hydraulic and water quality modeling, using your proficiency in tools like MUSIC, DRAINS, TUFLOW and QGIS.

About you

You know your TUFLOW, MUSIC and DRAINS softwares. You actually understand what they're doing.

You might air more towards stormwater management experience. Or Floodplain. Bonus points if you have experience across both. Either way, you'll be coming in with around 2 or 3 years of experience. You'll come with your Civil or Environmental Engineering degree too.

You’re comfortable moving between hydraulic modelling, stormwater assessments and water balance planning. You'll bring knowledge and experience with the preparation and maintenance of project plans to achieve TCQ objectives.
