Tech Aalto Pte ltd in Sydney, Australia is seeking a Principal Solution Architect to lead the Australian localization of the Pay fare instant-payout and embedded banking platform on Microsoft Azure. You will design scalable microservices, own API contracts, and govern cross-border integration with local rails.

The role requires deep hands-on experience with NPP/PayID, Azure AKS/APIM, and distributed orchestration patterns, plus a strong grasp of regulatory requirements (APRA, AUSTRAC).

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Australian payment rails: NPP, Osko, PayID, PayTo, and ISO 20022 messaging.
• Azure Cloud PaaS: containerized microservices and API layers on AKS, APIM, Functions.
• DDD/BIAN domain mastery, microservices, Saga orchestration for distributed payments.
• Hands-on Python microservices and API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger), REST/gRPC, Kafka.
• AU regulatory governance: APRA CPS 234/230 and AUSTRAC reporting, data residency requirements.
• Core banking integration with cloud-native apps.

Principal Solution Architect – Pay fare

Core Mission: Senior Solution Architect to design and govern the Australian localization of the Pay fare instant-payout and embedded banking platform on Microsoft Azure, integrating with local Australian payment rails and core banking/card issuing platforms.

Mandatory Technical & Domain Requirements:

• 1. Australian Payment Rails & Messaging: Deep hands-on experience with the New Payments Platform (NPP), Osko, PayID, PayTo, and ISO 20022 XML messaging standards (pacs.008/pacs.002), alongside card issuing/tokenization (Apple Pay/Google Wallet).
• 2. Azure Cloud PaaS Stack: Proven experience designing containerized microservices and API layers on Microsoft Azure—specifically Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Cosmos DB.
• 3. Distributed Orchestration & Architecture: Demonstrated mastery of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), BIAN service domains, microservices, and the Saga Orchestration Pattern (managing distributed payment states, compensating rollbacks, and low-latency double-entry ledger accounting).
• 4. Hands-on Engineering & API Security: Hands-on Python microservice architecture (FastAPI/Flask) alongside REST/ gRPC API contracts (OpenAPI /Swagger), Kafka/event streaming, and API security protocols (mTLS, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, JOSE).
• 5. AU Regulatory Governance: Working knowledge of APRA CPS 234 (Information Security), APRA CPS 230 (Operational Risk), AUSTRAC AML/CTF reporting flows, and Australian data residency requirements.
