Job summary

KBR is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the building services discipline on national Defence, Buildings and Infrastructure projects. You will direct technical direction, mentor teams and ensure design quality from FEED to construction.

You will drive engineering excellence, manage complex technical challenges and influence project outcomes while collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, practical solutions.

Qualifications

Extensive mechanical building services design experience across defence, commercial, transport and infrastructure sectors.
Proven leadership of engineering teams and delivery of complex projects to scope, budget and programme.
Experience with design reviews, quality assurance and mentoring of engineers and designers.
Strong client-facing skills and ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
Chartered Professional Engineer status or working towards it.
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Australian Citizens only due to Defence project involvement.

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical engineering discipline across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Provide technical direction, design leadership and QA from concept to delivery.
Mentor engineers and designers to build capability across the team.
Collaborate with clients, project managers and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outcomes.
Drive engineering excellence and manage technical risk.
