Job summary

IT Alliance Australia seeks a Principal Software Engineer-EL2 for Canberra, onsite. Candidates must hold an NV2 security clearance and be available for a 24-month extension term. The role focuses on designing Angular front-ends and .NET Core APIs, with SQL Server maintenance and CI/CD using Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy.

You will be a technical escalation point, mentor peers, and ensure quality through reviews, tests, and documentation while supporting operations on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as Senior .NET Developer in an enterprise environment (C#, EF, EF Core, ASP.NET Core).
• Experience building modern SPAs with Angular, TypeScript, CSS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain web UI with Angular.

Key duties and responsibilities

They will be required to:

• Design, develop and maintain user interfaces for modern web applications using Angular
• Maintain and enhance .Net Core Web API server applications
• Maintain and enhance the SQL Server databases which underpin the application
• Be a technical escalation point for complex bugs or enhancements
• Write integration and unit tests
• Collaborate closely with .NET back-end developers, Angular front-end developers, business analysts and testers to design, develop, and support quality outcomes within existing code
• Identify and present process or code improvement initiatives
• Develop, track, and complete assigned PBIs and bugs to a high quality across all areas of the system
• Participate and actively contribute to peer code reviews
• Utilise Azure DevOps and deployment practices while championing for continual improvement
• Contribute to system and process documentation
• Deliver technical production support as required on a rotating basis
• Infrequent support of operations from 7.00am, coordinated within the team, along with providing out-of-hours support on a rotating basis among team members
• Other duties as requested

Required skills and experience

• Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience as a Senior .Net Developer in an enterprise environment including C#, Entity Framework, Entity Framework Core and ASP.NET Core
• Analytical mindset, identifying and resolving production support and business issues
• Experience developing and styling modern single-page applications using Angular, TypeScript and CSS
• Strong SQL Server Skills, including writing and executing SQL commands.
• Experience in implementing asynchronous messaging patterns and deep understanding of enterprise design patterns (Repository, CQRS, Mediator, Factory).
• Experience utilising, managing and enhancing CI/CD pipeline consisting of Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy or similar
• Outstanding work ethic, self-starting, with demonstrated problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to both support and development
• Willingness to work collaboratively, put forward and argue ideas to the team and accept team decisions
• Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels from end-users to technical resources
• Ability to consistently work core hours and assist with ad-hoc rotations to support the 7:00am-6:00pm operations
