Job summary

Beca's Power team is seeking an experienced Principal Primary Engineer to provide technical leadership across transmission, distribution, renewable energy and infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand. You will lead technical governance, mentor multidisciplinary teams and foster strong client relationships while delivering high‑quality engineering outcomes for major projects across the region.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering transmission, distribution and renewable energy projects with HV primary substation engineering expertise.
• Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams with technical governance.
• Strong client engagement, stakeholder management and business development capability.
• Excellent communication, commercial awareness and mentoring passion.
• Experience in primary systems design, equipment specification, Safety in Design, constructability reviews, utility standards and renewables/grid projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, design assurance and governance across major projects.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients and project teams, delivering practical engineering solutions.
• Lead review and approval of complex engineering deliverables ensuring quality and safety.
• Support business growth through client engagement and mentoring technical teams.
