Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a senior engineer to lead a team across roads, rail, drainage and pavement, applying a corridor-wide lens to ensure safe, reliable and sustainable interaction of assets. You will develop, maintain and apply standards, specifications and governance frameworks, and represent the organisation in cross-modal forums to harmonise technical governance.

Qualifications

• Extensive corridor infrastructure or comparable multi-modal transport experience.
• Experience developing standards, specifications, guidelines, or governance frameworks.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant technical discipline and engineering registration, with leadership experience.

Key responsibilities

• Leading a team of engineers and specialists, and operating under delegated technical authority, you'll apply a corridor-wide engineering lens to ensure assets interact safely, reliably and sustainably across modes.
• You'll provide authoritative guidance on the development, maintenance and application of standards and specifications, ensuring that asset interactions, operational performance and lifecycle outcomes are optimised.
• You'll represent Transport for NSW in cross-modal forums and contribute to harmonisation initiatives that strengthen technical governance and capability across the network.
• You'll champion a corridor-wide mindset that brings together hydrology, drainage, pavements and associated infrastructure to inform evidence-based decision-making, continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

What you need

• You bring extensive experience in corridor infrastructure or comparable multi-modal transport environments, with a proven ability to provide strategic oversight across interacting asset classes such as roads, rail, drainage and pavement systems.
• You have experience developing professional standards, specifications, guidelines or governance frameworks, and a strong record in applying technical knowledge in an integrated, lifecycle outcomes-focused manner that optimise safety, reliability and cost outcomes.
• You hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical discipline, engineering registration, and experience leading technical teams.
