Job summary

KBR invites an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical building services design for Defence and secure infrastructure projects in Australia. You will guide multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction, delivering high-quality technical solutions and ensuring compliance with Defence standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, standby power, ICT, and security systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Baseline Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain.
• Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or ability to obtain chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services solutions across Defence and secure infrastructure projects, from concept to construction support.
• Provide technical leadership for electrical systems including LV power distribution, lighting, standby and emergency power, ICT, security, earthing, and renewables.
• Act as the lead electrical discipline engineer on major multidisciplinary projects, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and compliance with Defence requirements and standards.
• Manage electrical project deliverables, resources, budgets, and programme requirements for successful outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Defence clients, project stakeholders, contractors, and external consultants.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations, design docs, and engineering assessments.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and graduates, fostering technical development and engineering best practice.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
