Lanson Partners in Sydney is seeking a Senior Platform/DevOps Engineer to help build and run a critical identity platform for a leading Australian financial services group. You will own Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring security, reliability and observability in production.
Join an Agile team, work across AWS and GCP, and contribute to tooling and automation with Terraform IaC and modern DevOps practices in a fast-paced environment.
Senior Platform/Devops Engineer | Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, DevOps
A leading Australian financial services group is investing in a critical platform build: the customer identity platform that secures access to its banking and financial services products. Millions of customer logins run through it, so it has to be fast, secure and always on.
They want a hands-on platform engineer to help build and run it. This is a Kubernetes, cloud and DevOps role at heart. Identity is the service you support, not a skill you need on day one.
You will join an Agile engineering team that owns the platform end to end, from design and build through to running it in production. You will work with the wider platform and application teams to keep things secure, reliable and observable, and you will have real say in how the tooling and engineering practices improve.
Build and run cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP using Terraform.
Deploy and manage containerised workloads on Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) and Docker.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation and self-service tooling that other engineering teams rely on.
Own monitoring, alerting and incident response, and troubleshoot issues across distributed systems in production.
Support the platform services behind the identity and API stack.
Join an on-call rotation for highly available, customer-facing services.
Hands-on Kubernetes experience, deploying and running workloads in production.
Strong with Docker and containers.
Experience with AWS or GCP. Both is a bonus, one is fine.
Infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar).
Scripting or programming in at least one of Go, Python, Bash or Java.
A good grasp of web and API basics: REST, HTTP, certificates, API gateways.
You solve problems on your own and explain them clearly.
Exposure to identity protocols (OIDC, OAuth, SAML) or platforms (Ping, Okta, Entra ID, ISAM).
Ansible or other config management.
Banking, fintech or other regulated industry experience.
A critical platform build at a major financial services group, with the scale that comes with it.
Multi-cloud work across AWS and GCP, not a single-vendor shop.
Modern stack: Kubernetes, Terraform, containers, CI/CD and automation.
A chance to pick up identity and security skills that are in high demand, on top of your platform experience.
An engineering team that owns what it builds, from design to production.
