Job summary

Our client, a leading Australian mining company, seeks a Principal to lead the corporate development function. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, you will drive origination to completion, shape deal strategy and run a small team of Analysts.

Key responsibilities include originating opportunities through market engagement, structuring complex transactions, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and post graduate qualifications are preferred.
• Proven track record in corporate development, M&A or transaction advisory in resources.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and deal structuring skills required.

Responsibilities

• Originate opportunities through market engagement and industry networks.
• Structure complex transactions to unlock value and allocate risk.
• Direct financial modelling, valuation, and capital structuring.
• Present investment recommendations to Investment Committee and CEO.
• Lead negotiations through to financial close and mentor juniors.
