Queensland Government is seeking a Principal Engineer (Civil) in Cairns within Transport and Main Roads. You will provide engineering guidance, assurance and coordination across procurement, preconstruction, contract administration and construction delivery.

Responsibilities include high-level design, governance, and risk management, with collaboration across internal teams and external consultants to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience with road design standards, plans, specifications and construction.
• Strong engineering investigation, reporting and project management skills.
• Governance and risk management with stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Apply high-level engineering and project management expertise to preconstruction.
• Coordinate preconstruction disciplines including environmental and geotechnical needs.
• Manage contract performance and construction practices.
• Lead and coordinate resources to meet objectives.
