Job summary

Firmus Technologies seeks a Principal Engineer, AI Cloud Software to own the Firmus AI Cloud API and its control plane. You will drive the architectural direction, ensure cross-site scalability, and enable customers and partners to provision GPU compute via a robust, governance-enabled API stack.

You will lead design reviews, shape API contracts, and work across regions to maintain reliability, security, and cost efficiency in a high-demand AI infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in software engineering, with principal-level experience and hands-on delivery.
• Designed and evolved a public API with contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall design of the public API: contracts, versioning, and compatibility across domains.
• Set the target architecture two to three years ahead and plan migrations from current systems.
• Lead design reviews and sign off architecture decisions across teams.
• Write production code for API and control plane components and ensure multi-region survivability.
