Job summary

LL Frame & Truss (NSW) Pty Ltd in NSW is seeking an experienced Wood Machinist to join its production team. The role involves reading production drawings, selecting tooling, setting up woodworking machinery and manufacturing timber frames, truss components, flooring systems and related products to exact specifications.

You will maintain quality, supervise safety and collaborate with supervisors to meet schedules.

Qualifications

AQF Certificate III in Wood Machining or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year of full-time work as Wood Machinist or similar.
Experience operating industrial woodworking machinery.
Able to read/interpret production drawings, cutting lists and specs.
Sound knowledge of timber materials and quality control.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Study drawings, work orders and specs to determine machining needs and dimensions.
Select tooling, machine settings and sequences for timber processing.
Set up and adjust woodworking machinery for cutting, planing, shaping, drilling and sanding.
Manufacture timber frames, truss components, flooring systems and related products to spec.
Inspect finished components for dimensions, accuracy and quality; adjust as needed.
Assemble and fasten timber components during manufacturing.
Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning and safety checks on machinery.
Monitor material usage and minimise waste while maintaining production schedules.
