Qualifications

• Trade qualification in machining or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in CNC machining, setting and programming.
• Proven ability to independently program, set and operate CNC machining centres.
• Strong experience in 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling.
• Full 5-axis machining experience highly regarded.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, particularly Siemens NX, highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC milling machines and machining centres.
• Develop and optimise CNC programs, machining processes and cutting strategies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and workholding methods.
• Set tool offsets, work coordinates and machining parameters.
• Perform first-off inspections and ongoing dimensional checks.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify component accuracy.
• Troubleshoot machining problems and improve machining efficiency.
• Maintain high standards of quality, productivity and workplace safety.
