Job summary

Forge Outdoors Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead the pre-construction phase across our project pipeline in Australia. You’ll build project programs, manage approvals, convert surveys into accurate estimates, source suppliers and craft budgets to set Project Managers up for success.

With 5+ years in construction project management and a strong estimating background, you’ll collaborate with Client Relations, Design and Construction teams to ensure every job starts

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in construction project management.
• Qualifications in project management, construction or commercial management.
• Proven track record estimating on construction projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and end-to-end budget management.
• Excellent communication with clients, designers and PMs.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing surveys and drawings to scope quantities and resources.
• Building and managing the project program.
• De-risking projects, coordinating approvals.
• Sourcing and negotiating costings from suppliers, subcontractors and service providers to keep projects profitable.
• Building detailed estimate sheets and Project Description Sheets (PDS) so spend is predictable from day one.
• Locking in project budgets, giving Finance and Project Managers the numbers they need to run the job.
• Getting hands-on in design and client meetings, so costing and supply considerations are front and centre from the start.
• Keeping clients and stakeholders in the loop with clear, consistent reporting.
• Digging into completed jobs to find efficiencies and sharpen how we cost the next one.

We're looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our team and help set our projects up for success before the first shovel hits the dirt. About the role

As Pre-Construction Manager, you'll lead the pre-construction phase across our project pipeline. Building and managing project programs, managing approvals, turning drawings and surveys into accurate estimates, sourcing the right suppliers, and building the budgets that give our Project Managers a solid foundation to deliver from. You'll work closely with Client Relations, Design, and Construction teams to make sure every job starts on the right footing, and stays that way.

About you

• 5+ years' experience in construction project management, ideally with solid estimating experience
• Qualifications in project management, construction or commercial management
• A genuine track record estimating on construction projects — you know what good costing looks like
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence managing a project budget end to end
• Sharp attention to detail, and the communication skills to bring clients, designers and PMs along with you
