About The Role

This role manages referrals, conducts assessments, and responds to the immediate needs of Aboriginal clients seeking support through the Orange Door Hub. Working within a multidisciplinary team, it delivers culturally safe, high-quality support to Aboriginal women, children, men, and families. The position provides short-term assistance and connects clients with appropriate services for ongoing support.

About You

This role provides culturally competent, short-term case management and crisis support to Aboriginal clients at the NEMA Orange Door Hub. It includes intake, assessment, care planning, outreach, and accurate reporting, while fostering cultural safety, respecting self-determination, and ensuring responsive service coordination through triage and brokerage management.

Requirements
  • A degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy, or significant lived experience relevant to the work
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the Family Violence sector
  • Where a degree is commenced but not completed, the salary will be fixed at Award Level 4 until successful completion
  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
