Talent Quarter is partnering with a well-established GP clinic to recruit a Practice Nurse for a permanent part-time role in Somerville, VIC. The successful candidate will be the sole Registered Nurse in a small, community-focused practice on a 3-day week.

You’ll have autonomy to run the nursing side, working with a GP, Enrolled Nurse and Practice Manager to deliver immunisations, wound care, chronic disease management and health assessments.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• General Practice / Practice Nursing experience preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification.
• Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
• Strong immunisation knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver childhood, adult and travel immunisations.
• Provide wound care, dressings and suture/staple removal.
• Manage chronic disease and GP Management Plans.
• Conduct health assessments and 75+ checks.
• Perform ECGs and spirometry; assist GP with procedures.
• Maintain cold chain and vaccine stock; recall systems.
• Ensure infection control and stock management.
• Educate patients and support Enrolled Nurse.

Are you a confident, experienced Practice Nurse who enjoys taking ownership of the nursing side of a clinic? Looking for a part-time role in a small, close-knit practice where you’ll be a valued part of the team?

Talent Quarter is proud to be partnering with a well-established GP clinic to find a Practice Nurse to join their team in Somerville, VIC, on a permanent part-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Nurse who is comfortable working as the sole Registered Nurse in the clinic and is looking for a balanced 3-day week in a friendly, community-focused practice on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Clinic

You’ll be joining a small, supportive team made up of:

• 1 GP
• 1 Enrolled Nurse
• 1 Practice Manager

As part of a small team, you’ll work closely with everyone in the clinic and build genuine relationships with both your colleagues and the local patient community. You’ll have the backing of an experienced GP and Practice Manager, along with the autonomy to run the nursing side of the clinic your way.

The Role

This is a part-time position working 3 days per week, 9am to 4pm. As the clinic’s Registered Nurse, you’ll work closely with the GP, Enrolled Nurse and Practice Manager to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Childhood, adult and travel immunisations
• Wound care, dressings and suture/staple removal
• Chronic disease management and GP Management Plans / Team Care Arrangements
• Health assessments, including 75+ and other MBS health checks
• ECGs, spirometry and other clinical observations
• Triage and assisting the GP with procedures
• Cold chain management and vaccine stock control
• Recall and reminder systems
• Infection control, sterilisation and maintaining clinical stock and equipment
• Supporting and working alongside the Enrolled Nurse
• Patient education and health promotion

About You

You’ll be a confident, independent Practice Nurse who is comfortable being the go-to nurse in a small clinic.

To be considered, you will have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous General Practice / Practice Nursing experience
• Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification
• Current National Police Check
• Current Working with Children Check
• Strong immunisation knowledge and experience
• Experience with wound care, chronic disease management and health assessments
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A friendly, professional and patient-focused approach
• The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a larger clinical team
