Job summary

Talent Quarter partners with a well-established GP clinic in Somerville, VIC to recruit a Practice Nurse for a permanent part-time role. The successful candidate will be the sole Registered Nurse in the clinic, working 3 days a week from 9am to 4pm, with autonomy to manage nursing duties and delivery of care.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in General Practice / Practice Nursing.
• CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications.
• National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide immunisations for children and adults and travel vaccines.
• Perform wound care, dressings and suture/staple removal.
• Manage chronic disease care plans and team care arrangements.
• Conduct health assessments including MBS checks.
• Carry out ECGs and spirometry and other clinical observations.
• Triages and assists GP with procedures.
• Monitor cold chain and vaccine stock control.
• Run recall/reminder systems and ensure infection control.
• Support Enrolled Nurse and educate patients.

Are you a confident, experienced Practice Nurse who enjoys taking ownership of the nursing side of a clinic? Looking for a part-time role in a small, close-knit practice where you'll be a valued part of the team?

Talent Quarter is proud to be partnering with a well-established GP clinic to find a Practice Nurse to join their team in Somerville, VIC, on a permanent part-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Nurse who is comfortable working as the sole Registered Nurse in the clinic and is looking for a balanced 3-day week in a friendly, community-focused practice on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Clinic

You'll be joining a small, supportive team made up of:

• 1 GP
• 1 Enrolled Nurse
• 1 Practice Manager

As part of a small team, you'll work closely with everyone in the clinic and build genuine relationships with both your colleagues and the local patient community. You'll have the backing of an experienced GP and Practice Manager, along with the autonomy to run the nursing side of the clinic your way.

The Role

This is a part-time position working 3 days per week, 9am to 4pm. As the clinic's Registered Nurse, you'll work closely with the GP, Enrolled Nurse and Practice Manager to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Childhood, adult and travel immunisations
• Wound care, dressings and suture/staple removal
• Chronic disease management and GP Management Plans / Team Care Arrangements
• Health assessments, including 75+ and other MBS health checks
• ECGs, spirometry and other clinical observations
• Triage and assisting the GP with procedures
• Cold chain management and vaccine stock control
• Recall and reminder systems
• Infection control, sterilisation and maintaining clinical stock and equipment
• Supporting and working alongside the Enrolled Nurse
• Patient education and health promotion

About You

You'll be a confident, independent Practice Nurse who is comfortable being the go-to nurse in a small clinic.

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous General Practice / Practice Nursing experience
• Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification
• Current National Police Check
• Current Working with Children Check
• Strong immunisation knowledge and experience
• Experience with wound care, chronic disease management and health assessments
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A friendly, professional and patient-focused approach
• The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a larger clinical team
