Job summary

MyVet Byron Bay is seeking a hands-on Practice Manager to lead a busy veterinary clinic, coordinating day-to-day operations, people and services. You’ll work closely with the lead veterinarian and nursing team to create a high-performing, engaged environment.

This role offers flexible hours across 5 days, a supportive culture focused on wellbeing and growth, and a chance to shape client experience, veterinary care standards and clinic systems using EzyVet.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in veterinary clinic management or a leadership role.
• Experience with practice management systems (e.g., EzyVet).
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day clinic operations and veterinary services.
• Provide exceptional front-of-house client service and engagement.
• Lead recruitment, workforce planning, wellbeing, performance and development.
• Support client experience, loyalty initiatives and service growth.
• Contribute to marketing, digital services, and social media presence.
• Manage budgets, stock control, procurement, and accounts.
• Ensure WHS compliance and facilities, equipment, and presentation standards.
• Drive strategic direction and continuous improvement.
• Champion new initiatives and projects with a collaborative leadership style.

About Us

MyVet Byron Bay is known for community trust and delivering a high standard of veterinary care across Northern New South Wales. Our vet clinic includes a spacious reception, 2 consult rooms, treatment room, surgical theatres, lab and pharmacy, separate cat and dog wards — plus staff kitchen and lounge.

Our veterinarians work alongside our nursing and client care team. We offer routine GP services along with urgent care and advanced surgery.

About The Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role where your success comes from planning and coordinating the day‑to‑day operations, people and services of the clinic. You’ll work closely with the lead veterinarian and nursing team to build a high‑performing and engaged clinic environment.

You will enjoy a varied role that includes:

Overseeing all business operations and veterinary services

Provide exceptional front of house client services

Leading on employee matters including recruitment, workforce planning, wellbeing, performance, and development

Supporting client experience, loyalty initiatives, and service growth

Contributing to marketing, digital services, and social media presence

Managing budgets, stock control, procurement, and accounts

Ensuring WHS compliance, facilities, equipment and presentation standards

Supporting strategic direction and continuous improvement

Championing new initiatives, projects, and technology

Leading with transparency, collaboration, and a sense of fun

About You

Previous management experience desirable (training and support provided)

Minimum 5 years veterinary experience preferred but not essential

Passion for high standards of animal care and client services

Confident with practice management systems (we use EzyVet)

Strong organisational, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills

Good understanding of workplace health & safety and employee obligations

Warm, genuine leadership style — you enjoy supporting people who care for animals
