Greencross Vets Underwood is looking for an experienced and people-focused Practice Manager to lead our wonderful team and support the continued success of our growing clinic.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Nurse looking to step into or continue in leadership, an established Practice Manager, or a healthcare professional with strong medical, dental, allied health, or hospital management experience who is passionate about people, operations, and exceptional customer service.

About the Role

As Practice Manager, you'll play a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of the clinic while fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable team culture.

Working closely with our veterinarians, nurses, reception team, and regional leadership team, you will help drive clinic performance, support team development, and ensure exceptional patient and client experiences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching, and developing clinic team members
• Building and maintaining a positive, supportive, and accountable team culture
• Managing rostering, workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding
• Overseeing clinic administration and daily operations
• Monitoring business performance and supporting clinic KPI achievement
• Supporting exceptional client service and patient care standards
• Driving local marketing and community engagement initiatives
• Managing stock control and supplier relationships
• Partnering with Vet Directors and regional leaders to support clinic growth and success
• Ensuring compliance and operational standards are maintained
• Supporting workflow and operational efficiency across the clinic

For candidates with a veterinary nursing background, the role will also include hands‑on nursing responsibilities to support the clinic's day‑to‑day operations.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) and is eligible for veterinary nurse registration, or has significant leadership experience within a medical, healthcare, dental, allied health, or hospital environment
• Has previous Practice Manager, Operations Manager, Hospital Manager, or leadership experience
• Is passionate about developing and supporting people
• Has strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
• Demonstrates sound business acumen and organisational abilities
• Enjoys creating positive and engaged workplace cultures
• Can confidently balance operational, people, and business priorities
• Is solutions-focused, proactive, and highly organised
• Has a genuine passion for delivering exceptional client experiences

Previous veterinary industry experience will be highly regarded; however, we also welcome applications from experienced healthcare leaders looking to bring their transferable skills into the veterinary industry.
