Job summary

An experienced Practice Manager is sought to lead day-to-day operations of a rapidly growing private specialist medical practice in Claremont, WA. You will shape systems, processes and the team to support growth and onboarding of new specialists.

Reporting to Directors, this full-time role requires strong people leadership, commercial acumen and a proactive, autonomous approach to drive efficiency, client experience and ongoing business expansion.

Qualifications

• Previous Practice Management experience in a busy private medical practice.
• Experience in a specialist private practice environment is highly regarded.
• Strong leadership, performance management and coaching skills.
• Autonomous, proactive and highly organised with project management ability.
• Experience implementing systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to balance immediate priorities with longer-term growth.
• Experience with Gentu or similar practice management systems would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Practice Manager to join a rapidly growing private specialist medical practice based in Claremont. With strong patient demand and significant growth underway, the practice is entering an exciting next phase. The team is expanding, additional specialists are joining the practice, and a number of broader business initiatives are being developed to support its future growth. This is a pivotal leadership position for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving the way a business operates and leading people through growth and change. Working closely with the Directors, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operational management of the practice, providing leadership across the administration and nursing teams while contributing to broader business improvement and expansion initiatives. This is a permanent full-time position with some flexibility available for the right person.

The Role

As Practice Manager, you will provide hands-on operational leadership across the practice and create the systems, processes and team environment required to support continued growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the day-to-day operations of the practice
• Managing and supporting administration and nursing teams
• Providing clear leadership, accountability, coaching and performance management
• Reviewing workflows, rostering and allocation of responsibilities across the team
• Implementing and improving policies, procedures and operational systems
• Supporting the onboarding and integration of new medical specialists
• Overseeing billing processes, debt collection and financial administration
• Managing suppliers, stock and other operational requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, communication and patient experience
• Supporting new business initiatives and future practice expansion
• Taking ownership of operational projects from concept through to implementation
• Working closely with the Directors to support the ongoing growth and development of the business

About You

We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager who combines strong people leadership with commercial awareness and a genuine interest in improving how a business operates.

You will ideally bring:

• Previous Practice Management experience within a busy private medical practice
• Experience within a specialist private practice environment, which will be highly regarded
• Strong leadership capability, including confidence managing performance and having difficult conversations
• A proactive and highly autonomous approach
• Strong organisational and project management capability
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of the operational drivers of a successful private practice
• Experience implementing systems, processes and continuous improvement initiatives
• The ability to balance immediate operational priorities with longer-term business objectives
• Confidence working closely with business owners and medical specialists
• The ability to lead a growing team through change with clarity and accountability
• Experience usingGentu or similar specialist medical practice management systems would be advantageous.
