Job summary

Adelaide Surgicentre in Kent Town is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the specialist practice and accredited day surgery. You will report to the Board and oversee clinical and non-clinical functions, finance, HR, quality and facilities to ensure efficient operation and high patient care standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Practice Manager or senior healthcare manager.
  • Experience within specialist medical practices, private hospitals or accredited day surgeries (highly regarded).
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound financial management skills including payroll, bookkeeping and budgeting.
  • Experience using Xero and medical practice management software.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and employment legislation.
  • Experience with NSQHS Standards, accreditation or quality management programs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with practitioners, staff and external stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain practice policies, procedures and operational systems.
  • Manage practitioner credentialing and onboarding.
  • Coordinate monthly Board meetings, agendas and minutes.
  • Oversee contracts with suppliers, insurers and external service providers.
  • Manage facilities, equipment maintenance and asset registers.
  • Assist with strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
  • Provide occasional front desk support when required.

Job description

We are a busy specialist consulting practice (Adelaide Skin & Eye Centre) and day surgery (Adelaide Surgicentre) located in Kent Town. Our facility specialises in skin cancer surgery, Mohs surgery, oculoplastic surgery and laser.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Practice Manager to lead the operational and administrative functions of our well-established specialist practice and accredited day surgery.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about building high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and supporting exceptional patient care.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors and supported by a Nurse Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of both the specialist practice and day surgery, ensuring the business operates efficiently, maintaining day hospital accreditation and compliance with relevant regulatory standards, while supporting our practitioners to deliver outstanding clinical care.

You will provide leadership across clinical, non-clinical, finance, human resources, quality and accreditation, business planning, and facilities management.

Key responsibilities

Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team.

About you

You are an experienced healthcare leader who enjoys balancing people leadership with operational management.

You will bring:

Previous experience as a Practice Manager or senior healthcare manager.

Experience within specialist medical practices, private hospitals or accredited day surgeries (highly regarded).

Strong leadership and team development skills.

Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Sound financial management skills including payroll, bookkeeping and budgeting.
