SA Power Networks is offering a structured career pathway for qualified Electricians to become Powerline Workers. The 4-year training contract includes on-the-job training and RPL to obtain the Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead, with training delivered at our Adelaide centre and accommodation/LAFHA support.

The role is based at the Kingscote Depot, starting 26 April 2027, with a focus on safety, development and delivering a meaningful contribution to South Australia’s energy future.

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology is required.
• Electrical Workers Licence is required.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.
• Current Class-C Australian driver’s licence required.

SA Power Networks is excited to offer new opportunities for qualified Electricians to transition into a rewarding career as Powerline Workers.
This unique program is based on a 4-year training contract, but thanks to our extensive on-the-job training and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) processes, you can complete the pathway and obtain your Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead in almost to 2 years.
This position is based at our Kingscote Depot.
Training will be delivered through our in-house training centre based in Adelaide.
So, to make your training journey easier, we’ll provide the accommodation, travel and Living Away from Home Allowance (LAFHA) to support you anytime it's required, allowing you to focus on your development and success in your new position

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

Essential:

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Electrical Workers Licence
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency
• Current Class-C Australian driver’s licence

Desirable:

• EWP, White Card, First Aid, Rigging & Dogging
• Experience working on 33kV aerials and switchgear
• Involvement in power, control and protection system upgrades
• Exposure to industrial, commercial or heavy electrical environments
