Job summary

SA Power Networks is offering a structured pathway for qualified Electricians to transition into Powerline Workers through a 4-year training contract. Training is delivered at their Angle Park centre with on-the-job learning across Metro North Depots in Elizabeth, Holden Hill and Wingfield, Adelaide.

Start date is 26 April 2027 and the program includes extensive training and RPL pathways. Base wage is $102,971 per annum with allowances, overtime and a 9-day fortnight.

• Essential: Certificate III in Electrotechnology.
• Essential: Electrical Workers Licence.
• Essential: Australian citizenship or permanent residency or Australian permanent resident status.

SA Power Networks is excited to offer new opportunities for qualified Electricians to transition into a rewarding career as Powerline Workers.
This unique program is based on a 4-year training contract, but thanks to our extensive on-the-job training and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) processes, you can complete the pathway and obtain your Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead in almost to 2 years.
These 3 positions are based across our Metro North Depots (Elizabeth, Holden Hill & Wingfield).
All training will be delivered through our in-house training centre based in Angle Park.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

Essential:

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Electrical Workers Licence
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency
• Current Class-C Australian driver’s licence

Desirable:

• EWP, White Card, First Aid, Rigging & Dogging
• Experience working on 33kV aerials and switchgear
• Involvement in power, control and protection system upgrades
• Exposure to industrial, commercial or heavy electrical environments
