Job summary

Hunter Philips Ltd. seeks a Power System Engineer to join our Perth team, delivering expert power system analyses across Australia. You will model generators, loads and BESS, perform studies, and present findings to clients with clear, practical recommendations.

You will engage with project managers, bid teams and clients, leveraging PSS Sincal, PSS/E, DigSILENT and other tools to ensure regulatory compliance and successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Expert in power system analysis for grid connection, generation, transmission and distribution in Australia.
• Proficient with major power system software and able to generate and interpret models and studies.
• PM experience with multi-project responsibilities and client-facing delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to multiple power projects across Australia.
• Perform analytical studies using PSS Sincal, DigSilent, PowerFactory and other tools.
• Develop models for generators, loads and BESS and ensure regulatory alignment.
• Define plans, budgets and risks to clients and contribute to proposals.
• Generate studies and reports for network service providers incl. AEMO.
• Support sales, bid teams and project managers to secure new work.

Your deep technical knowledge means you can manage multiple projects at varying phases,.Responsibilities will also include:Providing support to multiple power projects being delivered across Australia.Performing analytical studies using PSS Sincal, DigSilent, PowerFactory, PSS/E and other power system analysis software in the areas of network planning, protection and distributed generator interconnection.Developing power system models for connection of the generators, loads, and BESS and configure them to align with the local and national regulations.Define and present plan, budgets and risks to clientsProvide technical support to the sales team in order to enhance their knowledge and ability to articulate to clientsGenerating models, studies and reports for network services providers, including the likes of AEMO and developers etc.Supporting project managers and bid coordinators to prepare successful proposals for winning new workEssential Qualifications and ExperienceYou hold a degree in Electrical EngineeringYou have demonstrated experience of working as an expert in power system analysis in grid connection, generation, transmission and distribution systems in Australia.You are highly proficient and an advanced user of power system software - i.e. PSS Sincal, PSS/E, DigSILENT, Python, PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD and other power system software.You have Project Management experience with a commitment for providing excellent customer service across multiple projects.Knowledge and experience with planning and connection studies, including load flow and fault analysis.You show high attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skillsYou have excellent communication skills and can present verbally or written, detailed, solution focused results to clients with successful deliverables.You thrive when able to use innovation, initiative and inquisitiveness, in order to provide positive outcomes for clients.Why join?You will be joining a highly successful organisation that is growing at a healthy, sustainable rate.
