Job summary

Zinfra is seeking a Portfolio Planner to join the Gas Services planning team in Sydney. You will support planning, coordination and performance of the annual program portfolio, partnering with Delivery Managers, Asset Management and Finance to deliver integrated work programs and insights.

You will analyse performance, forecast resources and costs, and provide dashboards using Excel, SAP and Power BI to support governance and decision making.

We're looking for an experienced Planner to join our team, supporting Zinfra Gas Services in the planning and delivery of its Gas Distribution and Gas Transmission programs.

About the Role

Reporting to the Program Planning Manager, you'll play an integral role in supporting the planning, coordination and performance of our annual portfolio of work.

You'll work closely with Delivery Managers, Asset Management, Finance and operational teams to develop integrated work programs, resource plans and performance insights that enable informed decision making and successful program delivery.

As a trusted partner to the business, you'll help create clarity across complex programs by connecting people, data and planning. Your ability to build strong relationships, facilitate collaboration and provide thoughtful analysis and insight will be key to ensuring our programs are achievable, well-balanced and aligned with business priorities.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate annual works programs and support the development of long-term delivery strategies.
  • Partner with Delivery Managers to develop workforce, resource and material plans that support successful delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with Asset Management to maintain and optimise Capital and Operating Works Plan.
  • Financial analysis and establishment of annual targets for unitised programs and monthly review of program performance
  • Analyse program performance, identify emerging trends and provide meaningful insights that support informed decision making.
  • Prepare regular and adhoc reporting, dashboards and forecasts using tools such as Excel, SAP and Power BI.
  • Support governance forums by providing clear, concise, accurate and timely planning information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Build trusted relationships across Operations, Finance, Asset Management and Delivery teams to support shared outcomes.
  • Help identify delivery risks, resource constraints and practical solutions that improve program performance.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
About You

You're naturally organised, enjoy working with others and find satisfaction in bringing structure and clarity to complex programs.

You take a thoughtful approach to problem solving, enjoy building positive relationships and are motivated by helping teams achieve shared goals.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience in program and resource planning at a minimum.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts into easy-to-understand information, contextualising data outcomes and providing data driven recommendations where required.
  • Experience developing and maintaining of forecasts, resource plans, financial baselines, performance reporting and other data sets.
  • Advanced capability with Excel and experience using planning and reporting tools such as SAP, Power BI or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a range of business functions.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset, curiosity and a genuine passion for continuous improvement.
  • Tertiary qualifications or significant experience in Engineering, Business, Strategic Workforce Planning, Project Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
