Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking a Portfolio Optimisation Manager to shape retail portfolio strategy across electricity, gas and broadband. You will integrate customer insights, market dynamics and regulatory developments to optimise pricing, products and portfolio performance, partnering with Retail, Energy Markets and Finance.

The role demands strategic thinking, strong data skills and clear communication at senior levels.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in portfolio optimisation and pricing strategy within a complex, regulated industry.
• Numerical and analytical capability including financial modelling and advanced Excel.
• Experience using SQL and data visualisation tools such as Tableau to interpret complex information and develop actionable recommendations.
• Strong commercial judgement balancing competitiveness, profitability, risk and customer outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into concise, influential presentations and written recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Develop portfolio and pricing recommendations that support growth, cost recovery and sustainable long-term performance.
• Own and optimise residential and business customer portfolios to improve value, retention and commercial outcomes.
• Assess customer behaviour, industry developments and wholesale market trends to guide pricing and portfolio decisions.
• Prepare clear, executive-ready insights, business cases and recommendations to support senior leadership and Board decision-making.
• Partner across Retail, Energy Markets, Finance, Regulatory and project teams to implement tariff changes, price new products and deliver strategic initiatives.
