Job summary

Hamilton Island Enterprises is seeking experienced Porters to join our Front Office teams across the island accommodation. In this guest-facing role, you'll create memorable first impressions, support seamless arrivals and departures, and provide warm, professional service throughout each guest's stay.

Qualifications

• QLD Driver Licence required.
• RDA (Restricted Driver Authorisation) required.
• Nationally Accredited RSA required.
• Previous porter/hospitality/guest service experience preferred.
• Impeccable grooming and professional presentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with arrivals, departures, luggage handling, transfers and guest requests across island accommodation.
• Provide friendly, professional guest service to create memorable experiences from arrival to departure.
• Maintain knowledge of daily activities, VIP arrivals and island events to inform guests.
• Ensure resort vehicles and buggies are clean, safe and presentable and coordinate with Front Office.

Your Role

As a Porter, you'll provide friendly and professional guest service while assisting with arrivals, departures, luggage handling, transfers, and general guest requests. Working across our island accommodation, you'll play an important role in ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable experience from the moment they arrive.

• Welcome guests and create an exceptional arrival and departure experience
• Assist with guest luggage efficiently and securely
• Support guest arrivals, departures, transfers, and room orientations
• Provide friendly assistance with guest enquiries and special requests
• Maintain knowledge of daily activities, VIP arrivals, and island events
• Ensure resort vehicles and buggies are clean, safe, and presentable
• Work closely with Front Office and other departments to support guest needs
• Respond to guest enquiries promptly and professionally

To be successful, you will need:

• Current Open Manual QLD Driver Licence (Essential)
• Ability to obtain a Restricted Driver Authorisation (RDA) (Essential)
• Nationally Accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol (Essential)
• Previous Porter, hotel, resort, or guest service experience
• Impeccable grooming and professional presentation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to deliver warm and personalised guest service
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work across different island accommodation operations
