Job summary

Australian Industrial Plastics, based in Newcastle, is seeking an experienced Poly Welder or Plastic Fabricator for a workshop role with some onsite installation work at local client sites.

The ideal candidate will have proven PE pipe installation experience for civil utilities, hands-on butt and electrofusion welding, ability to read isometric drawings, and relevant poly welding certifications. NSW White Card and a current driver's licence are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in PE pipe installation for civil/utilities projects.
• Hands-on experience with butt and electrofusion welding equipment.
• Ability to read/interpret isometric drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Relevant certifications in poly welding.
• NSW OHS Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Current driver's licence.
• Strong understanding of site safety and quality requirements.
• Plastic fabrication experience (tanks, vessels, etc.) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Workshop-based role with some onsite installation work at local client sites.
• Contribute to fabrication and welding of plastic components.
• Ensure work adheres to safety and quality standards.
• Read and interpret drawings to guide fabrication and welding work.

Australian Industrial Plastics has been fabricating bespoke plastic products for industrial clients for over 35 years.

Based in Newcastle, we work across water and wastewater, mining, resources, and heavy industry — building custom tanks, piping systems, water treatment equipment, and more. Our work is hands-on, technically varied, and no two jobs are the same.

We're looking for an experienced Poly Welder or Plastic Fabricator who can step straight into the role. This is primarily a workshop-based position with some onsite installation work at local client sites.

What you'll need

• Proven experience in PE pipe installation for civil and utilities projects
• Hands-on experience with butt and electrofusion welding equipment
• Ability to read/interpret isometric drawings and work to tight tolerances
• Relevant certifications in poly welding.
• NSW OHS Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Current driver's licence
• Strong understanding of site safety and quality requirements
• Plastic fabrication experience (tanks, vessels, etc.) highly regarded
• Trade qualification in polymer plastics, pipefitting, boilermaking, or a related discipline is advantageous
• NSW WorkCover high risk licences (forklift, EWP, excavator, dogging) are a bonus
