Job summary

Linkforce is seeking experienced Poly Welders for casual FIFO work across Australia’s largest mine sites. Access consistent work, competitive rates and long-term opportunities with a national contractor. HDPE expertise required across water and services infrastructure.

Responsibilities include fabricating HDPE pipe spools, operating welding machinery, assisting with installation, fusion and extrusion welding, and performing tests. Candidates must meet essential qualifications and pass screenings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Poly Welding experience.
• Butt Welding (PMBWELD301E).
• Electrofusion Welding (PMBWELD302E).
• Working at Heights & Confined Space (within 2 years).
• National Police Clearance (within 6 months).
• Construction White Card.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Valid Australian work rights.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.

• Operating poly welding machinery including tracked fusion equipment.
• Assisting with pipe installation, alignment and testing across shutdown and project scopes.

• Performing trial seams and conducting non-destructive/destructive tests.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Poly Welders to support current and upcoming shutdown, maintenance and project works across Australia’s largest mine sites. In this casual FIFO role, you’ll access consistent work, competitive rates and genuine long-term career opportunities within a well-established national contractor. Apply your HDPE expertise across large-scale mining water and services infrastructure. As a Poly Welder, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Fabricating and installing HDPE pipe spools for fixed plant, dewatering and process water systems
• Operating poly welding machinery including tracked fusion equipment
• Assisting with pipe installation, alignment and testing across shutdown and project scopes
• Performing fusion and extrusion welding of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) and LLDPE sheets.
• Performing trial seams and conducting non-destructive/destructive tests like air, vacuum, and tensiometer testing.

What You’ll Need

We are looking for skilled and safety-focused Poly Welders who thrive in fast-paced shutdown and maintenance environments.

Essential:

• Minimum 2 years Poly Welding experience
• Butt Welding (PMBWELD301E)
• Electrofusion Welding (PMBWELD302E)
• Working at Heights & Confined Space (within 2 years)
• National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
• Construction White Card
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Valid Australian work rights
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Must be able to perform physically demanding manual labour, unroll heavy sheets, and handle ballasted sandbags in varied weather conditions.

Highly Desirable:

• Previous mining experience
• Experience with McElroy or Dixon tracked welding machinery
• Client inductions (Rio Tinto, Fortescue, BHP, etc.)
• Additional trade or high-risk tickets (Dogging, Rigging, Telehandler or Excavator)
