B&M Infrastructure in Pakenham, VIC, is seeking a hands-on Poly Welder / Civil Construction Worker to join our growing civil team. This full-time role focuses on butt welding PE pipe up to 355mm, in-ground welds and supporting drilling crews on site.

You will set up and maintain your worksite, work independently, and take ownership of tasks while collaborating with our civil crew to deliver safe, high‑quality workmanship across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Qualifications

• Experience in poly butt welding with electrofusion welding experience highly regarded.
• Experience with PE pipe installations in civil construction or underground infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership from start to finish.
• Understanding of welding procedures, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
• Willingness to assist with general civil construction duties when required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Current MR Driver's licence and Construction Induction White Card.
• Reliable, detail‑oriented, and respectful of equipment and workplace.

Responsibilities

• Carry out poly butt welding of PE pipe up to 355mm, including pipe strings and in‑ground welds.
• Undertake electrofusion welding where required.
• Set up, organise and maintain the worksite and welding equipment.
• Take ownership of allocated works and ensure safe, high‑quality completion.

We're currently looking for an experienced and motivated Poly Welder / Civil Construction Worker to join our team.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who is confident working independently, takes responsibility for their work and enjoys being part of a team.

The role will primarily involve butt welding PE pipe up to 355mm, including pipe strings and in‑ground welding, along with supporting our civil and directional drilling crews when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out poly butt welding of PE pipe up to 355mm, including pipe strings and in‑ground welds.
• Undertake electrofusion welding where required.
• Independently set up, organise and maintain your worksite, including welding equipment, tooling and materials.
• Take ownership of allocated works, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain and look after welding equipment, tools and associated plant.
• Complete required welding documentation and quality records.
• Assist with general civil construction works, including trenching, pipe installation and underground utility works.
• Work alongside our civil and drilling crews to ensure projects run smoothly.

About You

We're looking for someone with a can‑do attitude, strong work ethic and pride in their workmanship. Someone who can confidently manage their own tasks while also understanding the importance of working together as a team.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience in poly butt welding, with electrofusion welding experience highly regarded.
• Experience working with PE pipe installations, preferably within civil construction or underground infrastructure.
• The ability to work independently, show initiative and take ownership of a job from start to finish.
• A good understanding of welding procedures, quality requirements and safe work practices.
• A willingness to assist with general civil construction duties when required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• A current driver's licence (MR Preferred) and Construction Induction White Card.
• A reliable attitude, attention to detail and respect for equipment and the workplace.

Relevant poly welding qualifications and experience are highly regarded.
