Job summary

Downer, awarded the PAS contract to deliver base and estate services for the Australian Defence Force, invites applications to join RAAF Scherger as a Plumber. This permanent role covers general plumbing maintenance, water and drainage systems, and minor upgrades in a defence setting.

Requirements include a Certificate III in Plumbing and a QBCC Plumbing Licence (QLD); post-trade maintenance experience is valued, as are Backflow Prevention certification and Gas Work Licence (Type A).

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Plumbing (or equivalent).
• QBCC Plumbing Licence (QLD).
• Post-trade experience in plumbing maintenance is desirable; however this position would be suited to licensed trade wanting to grow and learn in a preventative facilities maintenance role.
• Demonstrated ability to perform plumbing system maintenance, drainage and water system management.
• Backflow Prevention Certification and Gas Work Licence (Type A) (desirable).
• Current Open Driver's Licence.
• Ability to obtain and retain Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Perform general plumbing maintenance and minor upgrade works.
• Maintain and repair water supply, sewerage, drainage and other plumbing systems across the base.
• Undertake backflow prevention and thermostatic mixing valve testing where certified.
• Respond promptly to service requests and urgent repairs.

What You'll Do
