Job summary

Downer invites applications for a permanent Plumber in Cairns to maintain base water systems, drainage, and fixtures across PAS sites in QLD. You will perform general plumbing maintenance and minor upgrades to PAS definitions, while upholding safety and service standards.

Key requirements include Certificate III in Plumbing, QBCC Licence (QLD), post-trade experience in facilities or Defence, and current Driver's Licence; ability to obtain Defence clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-trade experience in plumbing maintenance, preferably in a facilities or Defence environment.
• Certificate III in Plumbing (or equivalent)
• QBCC Plumbing Licence (QLD)
• Backflow Prevention Certification and Gas Work Licence (Type A) desirable
• Current Open Driver's Licence
• Ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required)

Responsibilities

• Perform general plumbing maintenance and minor upgrade works in accordance with PAS service definitions
• Maintain and repair water supply, sewerage, drainage and other plumbing systems across the base
• Undertake backflow prevention and thermostatic mixing valve testing where certified
• Respond promptly to service requests and urgent repairs

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

• Perform general plumbing maintenance and minor upgrade works in accordance with PAS service definitions
• Maintain and repair water supply, sewerage, drainage and other plumbing systems across the base
• Undertake backflow prevention and thermostatic mixing valve testing where certified
• Respond promptly to service requests and urgent repairs

What You'll Bring
