Platypus Shoes in NSW is seeking an Assistant Manager to work with the Store Manager and support a passionate casual team. You will drive sales, coach staff, manage rosters, and deliver best-in-class customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

You’ll help create an energetic store culture, lead by example, and uphold visual merchandising and OH&S standards while delivering KPI results and a premium customer experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a senior casual, key holder, 3IC, or supervisor in a high-volume retail environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team and deliver strong results in sales and KPIs.
• Hands-on leader with a 'Make it Happen' mindset.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for coaching others.
• Operational know-how across stock management and visual merchandising.
• Genuine enthusiasm for customer experience and premium products.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in driving store performance by achieving sales targets, KPIs, and maintaining visual merchandising standards
• Motivate and inspire the team to deliver outstanding results in sales and customer experience
• Monitor and analyse store sales performance daily, weekly, and monthly – celebrate wins and identify opportunities for growth
• Manage rosters and wage spend in line with company targets and operational efficiency
• Coach and mentor team members, driving high morale, ongoing training, and succession planning
• Oversee stock levels, store presentation, shrinkage control, and operational excellence
• Ensure compliance with all OH&S policies and relevant state and national legislation
