Job summary

Platypus Shoes Marion is seeking an Assistant Manager to work alongside the Store Manager, building a high-energy retail culture while driving sales and KPIs. You will coach a passionate casual team, deliver exceptional customer service, and lead in a fast-paced environment at Marion.

You’ll monitor sales performance, manage rosters, and mentor staff to ensure operational excellence, OH&S compliance, and premium customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a senior casual, key holder, 3IC, or supervisor in a high-volume retail environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team and deliver strong results in sales and KPIs.
• A proactive, hands-on leader with a 'Make it Happen' mindset.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for coaching others.
• Operational know-how across stock management and visual merchandising.
• Enthusiasm for customer experience and working with premium product.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in driving store performance by achieving sales targets, KPIs, and maintaining visual merchandising standards.
• Motivate and inspire the team to deliver outstanding results in sales and customer experience.
• Monitor and analyse store sales performance daily, weekly, and monthly – celebrate wins and identify opportunities for growth.
• Manage rosters and wage spend in line with company targets and operational efficiency.
• Coach and mentor team members, driving high morale, ongoing training, and succession planning.
• Oversee stock levels, store presentation, shrinkage control, and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all OH&S policies and relevant state and national legislation.
