Job summary

Pronto Software's Development group in Melbourne VIC is responsible for supporting and improving the software delivery platforms, tooling and automation capabilities used by Pronto Software's Development organisation.

You’ll work with Development, QA, Security and Infrastructure to boost reliability, security and efficiency, while contributing to automation initiatives and developer experience improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting source control and CI/CD tooling in enterprise software teams.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Able to troubleshoot complex multi-technology issues and document solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support and administer software delivery platforms, source control systems and CI/CD tooling.
• Help operate and improve CI/CD pipelines, workflows and deployment processes.
• Support automated packaging, release management and deployment capabilities.
• Collaborate with Development, QA, Security and Infra to improve reliability, security and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot platform, pipeline, deployment and integration issues.
• Support DevSecOps practices including security controls and vulnerability management.
• Contribute to platform automation and developer experience improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting guides.
• Support onboarding and adoption of best practices across engineering teams.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and problem solving.

Where you’d be working:

This role is part of our Development group located in Melbourne VIC and is responsible for supporting and improving the software delivery platforms, tooling and automation capabilities used by Pronto Software's Development organisation.

What you’d be doing (your day would look like this):

• Support and administer software delivery platforms, source control systems and CI/CD tooling.
• Assist with the operation, maintenance and continual improvement of CI/CD pipelines, software delivery workflows and deployment processes.
• Support automated software packaging, release management and deployment capabilities.
• Work with Development, QA, Security and Infrastructure teams to improve software delivery reliability, security and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot platform, pipeline, deployment, authentication and integration issues.
• Support DevSecOps practices including security controls, vulnerability management and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to platform optimisation, automation initiatives and developer experience improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge resources and troubleshooting guidance.
• Support onboarding, knowledge sharing and adoption of software delivery best practices across engineering teams.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies to improve engineering productivity, automation and problem solving.

We’re looking for a Platform Support Engineer who has:

• Experience supporting GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket or similar source control management platforms.
• Strong Git and source control knowledge.
• Experience supporting enterprise software development teams.
• Practical experience with CI/CD platforms, pipelines and deployment processes.
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles and practices.
• Knowledge of build, packaging and release management processes.
• Understanding of networking, DNS, HTTP/S, TLS, authentication and access management concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues across multiple technologies and platforms.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted or hybrid environments.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and operational efficiency.
• Adaptability and willingness to embrace emerging technologies and AI-assisted ways of working.

To enjoy being a Pronto Software employee you’d need to have:

• Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working within software engineering, platform support, DevOps or related technical environments.
• Understanding and experience of software engineering environments and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Comfort using AI tools and emerging technologies to support analysis, automation, troubleshooting, documentation and continuous improvement.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous learning.
• A current driver's licence.
• Ability to undertake occasional interstate travel when required.

Pronto Software is currently operating from a temporary location in Mulgrave (due to works in our Forest Hill office). The successful candidate should expect to relocate their office location from Mulgrave to Forest Hill in the future.
