Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to build, support and improve secure application platforms. You will manage containerised workloads on Kubernetes platforms, drive automation, and collaborate with development, security and test teams to deliver reliable services.

Key activities include maintaining Rancher/OpenShift environments, migrating workloads, and advancing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Git.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes environments (OpenShift or similar).
• Experience administering Linux-based server or platform environments.
• Experience building, maintaining or troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Automation and configuration management using Ansible, scripting or similar.
• Understanding Docker, containerised apps and Kubernetes patterns.
• Experience with Helm, IaC or other platform automation tooling.
• Knowledge of security scanning, vulnerability remediation and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support Kubernetes environments using Rancher and OpenShift to monitor workloads, deployments and platform health.
• Migrate containerised workloads between Kubernetes platforms, including Helm charts and routing.
• Develop, maintain and improve CI/CD and GitOps pipelines, supporting reliable Docker image build, test and deployment outcomes using Jenkins and Git.
• Automate platform configuration, deployment and operational tasks using Ansible, scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Administer Linux‑based platform environments, including upgrades, patching, troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
• Integrate applications with supporting platform services, including object storage, artifact repositories and Git repositories.
• Support secure platform operations, including security scanning, vulnerability remediation, certificate management, access controls and DevSecOps practices.
• Troubleshoot platform, pipeline and environment issues in collaboration with development, test and security teams.
