Job summary

Akuna Capital is seeking a Platform Engineer to own cloud and platform initiatives, collaborating with Trading, Development, Infrastructure and Operations teams. You will design and implement cloud solutions, automate infrastructure, and monitor hybrid-cloud environments.

The role requires deep Kubernetes expertise (EKS and on‑prem), strong IaC skills with Terraform, and experience building scalable, secure cloud-native platforms. Join a fast-paced, data-driven trading environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years in Platform/Cloud Engineering, SRE, DevOps or related roles.
AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.
Deep Kubernetes production experience including on‑premise and EKS.
Strong cloud infra design on AWS; GCP experience a plus.
Terraform/IaC with reusable modules and state management.
Experience building scalable, secure cloud-native platforms.
Strong observability: monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting.
CI/CD design and modern software delivery practices.
Linux admin and scripting in Python/Bash.

Responsibilities

Own platform and cloud engineering initiatives across teams.
Design and implement cloud solutions and infrastructure as code.
Monitor and secure hybrid-cloud environments and deployments.
Provision, configure, upgrade, and monitor Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, and other large-scale DBs.
Automate infrastructure management and CI/CD pipelines with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab.
Evaluate architectures and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with engineering, operations and business teams to drive initiatives.
