Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build and operate scalable infrastructure platforms underpinning critical services in the UK. You will work across automation, operations and security, contributing to reliability and performance improvements.

Eligible applicants should be able to collaborate with architecture, security and software teams, while developing documentation and reusable engineering practices for the broader community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to design, build and operate resilient platforms.
• Experience with automation and IaC for large-scale environments.
• Knowledge of security, reliability, and performance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, support and continually improve infrastructure platforms for critical services.
• Automate operational processes to reduce manual work and boost reliability.
• Support platform modernisation and transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture, security and software engineering teams on technical solutions.
• Monitor platform health and drive continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to long-term resolutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards and reusable practices.
• Share knowledge and mentor others within the engineering community.
