Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s EC Technology team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to set the engineering direction for a domain, shaping architecture and platform investments. You’ll drive reuse, define patterns for resilience, security and responsible AI while remaining hands-on to translate Technical direction into practical outcomes.

You’ll mentor senior engineers, promote measurable improvements across APIs, services and internal interfaces, and ensure alignment with regulatory

Competenze

• Foundations in algorithms, data structures, concurrency and distributed systems.
• Experience owning technical outcomes across product or platform surfaces.
• Experience designing/operating production services and APIs at scale (REST/OpenAPI).
• Full-stack capability with React and TypeScript; backend-for-frontend patterns.

• Own the domain’s technical strategy, including architecture direction and platform choices.
• Drive consolidation and decommissioning, reducing duplication and enabling golden paths.
• Scale platforms from MVPs to enterprise-ready services.
