Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Software Architect in Australia to shape platform architecture for a large distributed engineering organization. You will lead cross‑team technical direction, work with staff and lead engineers, and drive AI-assisted engineering workflows while maintaining design standards.

This fully remote role emphasizes high‑impact architecture, multi‑region readiness, and scalable API design across REST and SDKs. Exceptional communication and hands‑on capabilities are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years as Architect in a large org
• Proven ability to influence senior engineers without direct authority
• Deep expertise in distributed, high‑throughput backend architecture using Go or similar, Kubernetes and AWS
• Broad understanding of client SDKs, data pipelines, and ML serving environments
• Strong API design and SDK experience at scale, with clear architectural documentation

Responsibilities

• Build and own the platform architecture view, data flows and dependencies
• Drive architectural improvements to mitigate risks before incidents
• Set API design direction and service patterns across REST APIs, SDKs and MCP
• Lead complex architectural designs and maintain durable decision records
• Mentor staff-level engineers in system design and technical writing
• Establish and extend observability, security-by-design, versioning standards
• Translate business growth and AI workflows into multi-quarter technical strategy
• Advise on build-vs-buy and platform investments
