Job summary

Carrathool Shire invites applications for a road maintenance role focused on the upkeep and safety of council roads and bridges. You will operate plant and equipment such as tractors, rollers, backhoes and trucks to deliver essential civil works.

Applicants should have a Whitecard and experience in maintenance labouring or civil construction, with the ability to work unsupervised in a team and a strong commitment to workplace safety and traffic control procedures.

Qualifications

• General Induction for Construction certificate (Whitecard) required.

Purpose

Perform a variety of tasks to support the maintenance and safety of Council’s roads and bridges. Operate and maintain plant and equipment, ensure compliance with traffic safety standards, and undertake road repairs to provide safe and reliable infrastructure for public use.

• General Induction for Construction certificate (Whitecard).
• Working ability to operate and maintain plant such as tractors, towed rollers, self-propelled rollers, backhoes, trucks, and attachments.
• Experience in maintenance labouring and/or civil construction activities.
• Ability to work unsupervised in a team environment.
• Awareness of workplace safety.
• Understanding of traffic control and public safety procedures.
