Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Plant Operator / Labourer to join the Parks Operations team in Gracemere. The role involves operating tractors, ride-on mowers and other equipment to maintain parks, reserves and open spaces across the region.

The position requires a background in horticulture or turf maintenance, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work well in a team to deliver high-quality community assets. A Police Check is also required.

• Permanent / Full Time


• Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight


• $77,483 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 5 + Site) + Superannuation

Your new role

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a motivated Plant Operator / Labourer to join our Parks Operations team. This hands‑on role forms part of a multi‑disciplined team responsible for maintaining parks, reserves and open spaces across the Rockhampton Region.

As a Plant Operator / Labourer, you will operate tractors, ride‑on mowers and other plant and equipment while undertaking a range of mowing, slashing, vegetation management, horticultural and general parks maintenance activities. You will also assist with pest and weed management, irrigation maintenance and the upkeep of public spaces to ensure safe, attractive and well‑maintained community assets.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
