Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking a Plant Operator / Labourer to join the Parks Operations team in Gracemere. The role involves operating tractors, ride-on mowers and other equipment to maintain parks, reserves and open spaces across the region.

The position requires a background in horticulture or turf maintenance, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work well in a team to deliver high-quality community assets. A Police Check is also required.

Qualifications

• Ability to legally operate a manual transmission tractor and associated implements.
• Experience in horticulture, turf maintenance, vegetation management and general parks maintenance.
• Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining plant and equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and deliver high-quality community assets.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, ride-on mowers and other park equipment.
• Perform mowing, slashing and vegetation management tasks.
• Assist with pest and weed management and irrigation maintenance.
• Maintain public spaces to ensure safe, attractive community assets.
