Afrimat Lyttelton, based in Centurion has a fixed-term vacancy for a:

Plant Operator

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Valid driver's license.
• 2 years+ experience in a mining environment.
• Ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the plant, while ensuring that the product is produced according to the right quality specifications.
• Conducting pre-start checklists and inspections.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant.
• Operate the plant according to its desired capacity and specifications.
• Work safely while always maintaining a clean and neat working environment.
• Report any maintenance related problems and production related issues to the immediate superior.
• Adhere to minimum site safety/Mine Health & Safety Act requirements.
• Have a basic understanding of different products.
• Be willing to work overtime as and when required.
