Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council in Hervey Bay, QLD, is seeking a motivated Team Member Capital to support the construction and maintenance of road and drainage assets. You will work in a field-based team delivering high-quality infrastructure projects with safety and customer service at the core.

You will operate vehicles and plant, conduct pre-start checks, and assist with traffic control and data recording using Council systems. A White Card and MR Licence are essential.

Qualifications

• General Construction Induction (White Card).
• Current MR Licence recognised in Queensland.
• Experience in road and drainage construction and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake road construction and maintenance to specs and standards.
• Assist with drainage construction, maintenance and rehab works.
• Operate council vehicles, plant, tools and equipment safely.
• Conduct vehicle/plant pre-start inspections and basic maintenance.
• Assist with traffic control and safe worksite management.
• Record work activities, timesheets and service requests in Council systems.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Team Member Capital to assist in the construction and maintenance of Council's road and drainage assets. Working as part of a collaborative field-based team, you will help deliver high-quality infrastructure projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, customer service and efficient work practices.

What your day will look like:

• Undertake road construction and maintenance activities in accordance with specifications and service standards.
• Assist with drainage construction, maintenance and rehabilitation works.
• Operate Council vehicles, plant, tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct vehicle and plant pre-start inspections and basic maintenance activities.
• Assist with traffic control implementation and safe worksite management.
• Record work activities, timesheets and service requests using Council systems and mobile devices.

What you’ll need for success:

• General Construction Induction (White Card).
• Current MR Licence recognised in Queensland.
• Demonstrated experience undertaking road and drainage construction and maintenance works.
• Experience operating and maintaining civil construction plant, tools and equipment safely.
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to use mobile devices and work management systems to record work activities and service requests.

What’s nice to have:

• Safe Working Near Exposed Live Parts (SWNELP).
• Chainsaw Level 1.
• Traffic Management Implementation (Level 2).
• Experience working across a variety of civil construction and maintenance activities.
