Job summary

WesTrac Canberra is seeking skilled CAT technicians to join our field service team. You'll own overhauls, diagnostics and component rebuilds in our workshop, ensuring machines leave safe and ready for peak performance.

The role requires Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualifications and field service experience; success depends on maintaining safety standards and working with supervisors. We offer competitive hourly rates from AU$50 per hour, overtime from AU$79 per hour, paid parental

Qualifications

• Australian‑recognised mechanical trade (e.g., Cert III HD Plant).
• Field Service experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Strip, assess, rebuild and reassemble CAT machines and major components to OEM standards.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics and quality assurance checks throughout the rebuild process.
• Complete workshop maintenance, repairs and rebuild activities in line with production schedules and customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workshop environment while working collaboratively with Supervisors and peers.
