Job summary

WesTrac Bathurst is seeking a qualified Field Service Technician to join our on-site team. You’ll perform maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on CAT equipment, carrying out component change-outs and inspections in the field to keep machines safe and productive.

Applicants should hold an Australian-recognised mechanical trade (e.g., Cert III HD Plant) and have proven field service experience, with a valid driver’s licence. Relocation assistance may be available.

• Experience in rebuilds or major component overhaul.
• CAT or similar surface mining gear experience.
• Safety-first mindset and valid driver’s licence.
• Field service experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

About The Opportunity

WesTrac | Bathurst - Field Service

Join our Bathurst Field Service Team and be part of a highly skilled crew delivering industry-leading CAT machine support in the field. You’ll take ownership of maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and component change-outs on-site, ensuring every machine operates safely, reliably, and at peak performance.

What You’ll Do

• Perform on-site maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and component replacements on CAT equipment
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics and quality checks to identify faults and ensure equipment reliability
• Complete scheduled maintenance and field service activities in line with customer requirements and operational priorities
• Maintain a safe, organised work environment in the field while collaborang closely with Supervisors, planners and site personnel

What You’ll Bring

• Australian‑recognised mechanical trade (e.g., Cert III HD Plant)
• Proven rebuilds/major component overhaul/assembly experience
• CAT or comparable surface mining gear; strong diagnostics/fault‑finding
• Proactive, safety‑first mindset; unrestricted driver’s licence
• Field Service Experience (Highly regarded)
