WesTrac's Mt Thorley Rebuilds Workshop is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics and Mobile Plant Mechanics to join our team delivering complete Caterpillar machine rebuilds. This is a modern workshop environment involved in the full rebuild lifecycle of large equipment.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification in Heavy Diesel Fitting, Mobile Plant Technology, Plant Mechanics or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment or earthmoving machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform major rebuilds and overhauls on Caterpillar mining and construction equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and powertrain systems.
• Remove, inspect, repair and refit major machine components.
• Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting throughout the rebuild process.
• Complete quality inspections and testing to OEM standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.
• Collaborate with supervisors and fellow tradespeople to meet production targets.

About The Opportunity

WesTrac's Mt Thorley Rebuilds Workshop is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics and Mobile Plant Mechanics to join our highly skilled team delivering complete Caterpillar machine rebuilds. This is a unique opportunity to work in a modern workshop environment where you'll be involved in the full rebuild lifecycle of some of the mining industry's largest and most advanced equipment.

• From $60.55/hr+ (incl. allowances) + OT from $90.83/hr
• 12.5hr day & night shifts | 5 weeks annual leave – work only half the year on a Lifestyle roster!

What You’ll Do

• Perform major rebuilds and overhauls on Caterpillar mining and construction equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and powertrain systems

What You’ll Bring

Australian recognised Trade Qualification in:

• Heavy Diesel Fitting
• Mobile Plant Technology
• Plant Mechanics
• Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
• Or equivalent mechanical trade

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment, earthmoving machinery or heavy vehicles
• Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
• Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence

Highly Regarded

• CAT equipment experience
• Previous rebuild or overhaul experience
• Mining industry exposure
• Hydraulic and powertrain troubleshooting capability
